写真家・伊島薫が1993年から長年にわたって継続していたプロジェクトで、女優、モデル達との共同作業により実現したシリーズ。 理想の死 を迎える場所、服装、その死に方まで綿密に組み立てられたセットアップ写真の数々。一枚一枚の写真からはまるで映画のワンシーンのように、その女が死に至るまでの叙情的な物語が如実に写し出されている。死体が最期に来た服装にも、彼女達の人格がよく表れておりその細部に着目するだけでも面白い。

伊島薫が撮り続けてきた女優やモデルが死体を演じる「死体のある風景」シリーズを収録した大判の写真集。
